I absolutely loved this book. It had me giggling almost from the beginning. Full of wit, wisdom, and sideways humor. The author's vocabulary and writing style are enviable. Most entertaining and full of surprises. I was looking for a book to read that wasn't full of war, horror, violence, etc., etc. The Pig Comes to Dinner fills the bill. However, you must read The Pig Did It first. All three in this trilogy worth the time. Joseph Caldwell is a magnificent teller of tales.

I wasn't too fond of the end of this book, but the author shows great creativity in his storyline. Who would think a pig could hold so much sway over people? LOL. I'm looking forward to the third book in the series and any book that makes you anxious for more is a good book, indeed.
Once I had gotten used to the way the characters spoke, I found them charming and funny. I like how Irish culture and superstitions are masterfully woven throughout the text. The plot twists and turns keep you guessing to the outcome. I enjoyed this book even more than the first and can't wait to start the last book in the Pig Trilogy.

Funny, mystery books with history to them. The mystery sucks you in and makes for a good read while the pig carries you along book to book. I would definitely recommend this trilogy of books.
This book is the second part of a trilogy. The first book "The Pig Did It" was so good that I just had to buy this one.I was very disappointed;there was too much talking, the pig was hardly in the story at all,and it was not nearly as funny; even the ending was the biggest disappointment of all. Save your money don't buy it.
I love Joseph Caldwell's style of writing. Humorous yet sometimes very direct. I can picture in my mind the places he talks about in his story. However one part of the book about the "pig" I was not ready for. I do recommend that if you are a fan of the "pig", that you should read this book. I intend to read the "Pig goes to Hog Heaven".
If you love Ireland as I do, you will absolutely love reading this PIG TRILOGY! This is the first book of the three, and it begins a lovely adventure that follows amazing characters and story line. The Dingle Peninsula is the setting for these books, and the people who inhabit that region are the characters. You will laugh till you ache, but in the process, you will fall in love with the writer's command of language and his observational magic. Please read these amazing books!
